Financial Internship

Location: Mankato, MN

The Financial Intern provides clerical and administrative support to the branch(es) assigned by UPFN Investment Program Manager in support of the United Prairie Financial Network book of business. Resolve client issues that are administrative in nature.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as receptionist for the UPFN branch (es).
  • Resolve administrative issues for clients in a timely manner.
  • Open and distribute all office mail for UPFN branch.
  • Order and maintain stock of office supplies.
  • File pertinent information and maintain client files.
  • Prepare mailings and correspondence.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the UPFN client database.
  • Assist in the completion of account paperwork and various company forms.
  • Process all paperwork including follow-up to ensure proper execution.
  • Prepare materials and perform event planning for approved seminars and client appreciation events.
  • Track client and staff referrals.
  • Schedule appointments and manage appointment calendar in assigned branch (es).
  • Must adhere to and comply with rules, regulations, policies and procedures, of regulatory authorities, United Prairie, Broker/Dealer, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or state insurance commissioners.
  • Abide by all policies, procedures and regulations of UP.
  • Review, acknowledge and comply with all end user security requirements stated in the Information Security – End User Policy and Statement of Understanding.
  • Utilize all communication tools available including, but not limited to; UPLink, email, and instant messaging.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or management.

Specifications:

Because there is a high degree of external and internal contact with people, excellent skills in both verbal and written communication are required, as well as a high level of professionalism. Must be highly detail-oriented and able to adapt to changing demands and multiple deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • High School degree or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a financial office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and use of the internet
  • Occasional day travel may be required for training/meeting purposes
